This year, I was in NYC for Fashion Week and it was unreal. The city felt like it had the energy of 20 cups of coffee, instead of the usual 10. I had the opportunity to go to the TOME show and it was everything and more. You can see the backstage experience in my highlights on Instagram @erin.kean.

To feel like I was more a part of Fashion Week than I actually was, I stalked every street style photographer online to see what people were wearing. No one played it safe – understandably. I saw animal print, neon, and cowboy boots. Here are my favorite looks from NYFW and everything you need to re-create them.

We already know that animal print is huge this season – it’s almost impossible to find a leopard print skirt that isn’t sold out. Because of this, we’ve moved onto snakeskin. This is the perfect print to elevate any outfit because it looks expensive (even if it isn’t). Shop the look below.

We saw pops of neon on the runway for spring, but who’s stopping you from wearing this trend now? Neon might not be as impractical as you think, you don’t need to look like an ’80s dance coach to wear it – save that for Halloween. The looks above show how you can pull off neon even in the fall. While everyone gravitates towards darker tones, you can be the one to stand out – in the best way possible. A tip from me would be to grab a neon piece now before they fly off the racks come spring. We don’t need another leopard print skirt situation.

I myself am a stripes girl, I don’t think I own one piece that is polka dotted. However, after seeing some inspo over NYFW I have quite a few options in my shopping cart. I realize that I’m a little late to the polka dot game, but hey – I’m here now.

Patchwork is hot this season and we saw even more of it on the runway for spring. The best part about these pieces is that you don’t need to do a lot to make them into an outfit – perfect for if you’re running late and need something quick and easy to throw on and still look fabulous. Enjoy.

My shopping cart is FULL. If you want even more street style inspo, check out my Copenhagen Fashion Week post.
